Splicer Data Explorer - Support page -

    Splicer Data Explorer is a support application of the fusion splicers.

   This application can operate S123 series, S153 series and S178 series
   It dosen't operate in other fusion splicer series.

・Software Update
　 It updates the fusion splicers from the internet.
    The latest software can be checked at any time.
    (It can use it from all software version. )

・Remote Control
    It can remote controlled by virtual SW on the PC.
    The character edit and the image capture from PC.
    (It can use it only from the software version
    that supported. )

・Splice Information Check
    It can check automatically saved splicer information.
    (It can use it only from the software version
    that supported. )

    It is necessary to meet requirements to use Splicer Data Explorer.
    Check your fusion splicer's software version, and verify requirements.
    If software version do not comply with requirements, it cannot use all function of Splicer Data Explorer.

   It is necessary for fusion splicer to be higher
   than complicated software version to use all function of
   Splicer Data Explorer.

   It can use "Software Update" in all software version.

Q.1	PC doesn't recognize the fusion splicer.
A.1	Check a COM port number. ･The port of COM31 or more cannot be recognized in Splicer Data Explorer. ･Running device manager to chech a USB port number. << Change Settings for a COM. (Microsoft) >>

Q.2

An error is displayed when operate "Remote Display".

A.2

Change setting of the PC display.

  ･Open a setting page.

    XP
    (“Control panel > Appearance and Themes > Display > Settings > Advanced > Troubleshoot”)

    Vista/7
    (“Control panel > Display > Resolution > Advanced > Troubleshoot”)

  ･Move the slider bar of “Hardware acceleration” on 2nd or 3rd scale from "None".

  ･Remove the check from “Enable write combining”.

･Press the OK button to reflect.

*Return setting after use.

Q.3	The application doesn't respond.
A.3	Reconnet a USB cable after pull out from PC. ･If the error pop up is displayed, reconnet a USB cable after select "Continue" button.

Q.4	It was connected to the Internet, but cannot acquire a file information.
A.4	Check a setting of firewall on your PC. ･Splicer Data Explorer cannot connect with the Internet depending on PC environment of the use it may become the security setting. ･Check Splicer Data Explorer is set by the setting of the fire wall by "permission" << Windows Firewall >>
